These Messages From Acts Ministry

Who is Acts Ministry?

(The following is an article about Acts Ministry that was recently published in a Missouri Newspaper)

Acts Ministry is reaching the world from the Ozarks

When the Holy Spirit spoke, someone listened and a new ministry was being birthed based on an old idea. The church as expressed in the New Testament book of the Acts of the Apostles was about to be born again. Dr. Paul Collins heard the call and followed the directions he received in the late spring of 1993. He said God gave specific instructions that the leadership of the ministry would be shared by those who have the anointing to work for “Unity in Christ, Through the Holy Spirit,” and that has always been the mission statement of this unique movement.

Incorporated August, 16 1993, and granted group tax-exempt status from the IRS on June 8, 1999, Acts Ministry is a trans-denominational, international, and independent outreach for Jesus Christ. Many of the associates are members of mainline churches, and many are independent. They all consider themselves to be a part of a family of faith. With no formal membership roll, the “members” can maintain their connection with the church of their choice and be in fellowship with Acts Ministry.

The constituency of Acts Ministry can be found serving the causes of Christ as laity and as clergy in many parts of the world. Some are missionaries, others are evangelists, many are pastors, and still others are involved in relief work. In the United States, there are pastors, evangelists, teachers, counselors, chaplains, youth leaders, musicians, singers, and administrators of ministries of help to the homeless and others in great need of the benefits of the gospel message.

Acts Ministry provides credentials for those called into ministry. The license is for those who are just beginning to explore their call and enter into serious preparation for ministry. Ordination is for those who have a proven ministry and are willing to continue in a discipleship program. Ministerial credentials as granted by Acts Ministry are calling driven but education is encouraged. Acts Ministry ministers have had their license or ordination recognized by various denominations for pulpit/pastoral ministry and by civil authorities in connection with different kinds of chaplaincy work in jails, prisons, hospitals, and hospices.

Acts Ministry has never made a charge for ministerial credentials, and according to Dr. Collins “There will never be a cost because there was no provision for that in the New Testament. Exchanging money for ministerial credentials is unthinkable! You couldn’t buy the laying on of hands.”

Incorporated ministries can apply for coverage under the Acts Ministry 501 ( c ) (3) group tax-exempt status. This, like ordination, is a service to the body of Christ that is provided at no charge. But Dr. Collins has emphasized that ministerial credentials, and tax-exempt status, require the participants to be connected and accountable. The board of directors of Acts Ministry are convinced that a minister, church, or ministry will be more effective because of the power of association through connection and accountability gives credibility.
Noah’s Ark

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark...

One: Don't miss the boat.

Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat.

Three: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.

Four: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.

Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.

Six: Build your future on high ground.

Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs - Where two or more are gathered there is God Also.

Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.

Nine: When you're stressed, float a while.

Ten: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.

Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.
